Situated in a beautiful part of Herefordshire, this successful & established company specialise in the formulation of silicone rubber compounds, manufacturing extruded tube, profiles, sheet mouldings and organic rubber components.
Conducting precise & analytical development for product / material trials for manufacturing over 2 Plants, they are looking to expand their successful team with an enthusiastic & hands-on individual who can demonstrate an excellent “attention to detail” application within Rubber Polymers, for predominantly working in their Class 7 clean room, developing processes for components used in the medical and pharmaceutical sector.
The Process Engineer required will be responsible for the set up, sampling and process control of all new jobs/products and to monitor and improve already existing processes that are predominantly run within the clean room manufacturing facility.
Whether undertaking development trials, sampling and / or monitoring production set ups, for either moulding, or extrusion, the work is to be done in accordance with the Company’s quality control requirements.
The role requires a candidate of technical discipline, with knowledge of polymer processing (preferably thermo-set rubbers, ideally silicones and LSR), attention to detail, effective sampling and trialling methods, the ability to set and achieve objectives, record & present data via the correct channels and ultimately, ensuring new jobs are fit to run in a production capacity.
You will be responsible for Mould tool setting & the process development for both moulding (primarily Liquid Silicone Rubber) and extrusion.
You will assist in the development of actual mould tools and dies, the accurate recording of specifications, sampling, tooling, issue-changes, etc, and normal clean room operations (moulding, extrusion, packing, post-curing etc.)
As well as prior knowledge of high consistency rubber and liquid silicone rubber processing, it will be deemed an advantage if you also possess experience with the setting and running of Engel (or similar) injection moulding machines, cold-runner blocks and relevant tooling; Knowledge of the medical / pharmaceutical industry and medical / pharmaceutical components; and possibly experience with 3D CAD, however full training will be provided.
We will consider all applicants who may not have some of the above criteria but have good Polymer & Chemical backgrounds.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a “people orientated” team & business that offers long term job satisfaction, career & academia support & progression, and the opportunity for some European travel.
